Didn't get there. Date mix-up. had to go down to my Ma's old house to
clear 'stuff'. No hurry, anyway.

FAQ: Welcome to Usenet UK

Until the UK Usenet hierarchy got too big, a regular 'Welcome to
Usenet' message was routinely posted to all groups in uk.*

With the decline of Usenet, and the increase in the number of
people accessing Usenet via Google Groups, it was felt that this

TOGing out a Morini
Rationalisation of the fleet is a must this winter, so I am getting rid
of various parts of a 1977 350 Morini Strada. Nothing that could act as
spares for the 2C/375, but frame, tank, forks, wheels (I have an extra
spare cast front wheel from the Rotarini), mudguards etc.
First few items on Ebay within the hour.

And?

Re: Poxy swing-arm pivot bolt
SOP for any bike I buy - grease the brake pad pins, swingarm bolt,
shock linkage bolts & anything else that looks in a good position to
collect crud. It's the most productive couple of hours you'll ever
spend on a keeper ime.

Re: Poxy swing-arm pivot bolt
It's become part of the oil change ritual - undo the nut, turn the bolt
and redo.
It also helps the "pocket" the bolt runs in is stuffed with waxoyl.
I have a couple of front ends with cut-off bolts cluttering up the lockup
- I've acquired them over time with the intention of having the bolt
removed and sleeving the hole and selling on or using. Just haven't got

It is nice to have the right tool for the job, either bought or made.

occasionally.
Oh, God, yes. I managed to remove mine and re-grease it before it was
too late.

Re: Poxy swing-arm pivot bolt
On a similar theme, too late I learned about Guzzi front engine
mounting bolts and the need to free them regularly. As it ain't broke,
I'm leaving well alone.

Re: Majesty saga
I've tried both split PVC pipe and pukka fork seal drivers. The
real deal works so much better, it's really the only way to go.
I've resolved to simply buy a seal driver every time I need a new
size, eventually I'll have them all.

You've decided to get another container for the bikes?

It's off.
Mainly, I suspect, as a result of soaking it in penetrating oil every
day. I would have rigged up a plasticene 'cup' round it to hold a
reservoir if I had some to hand.
