Sounds like a good one Rob and it was a very enjoyable read. Thanks
for taking the time to share it with us.
We are heading out for four days this weekend. I'll see if I can post
a few words about the ride and maybe a couple of out of focus pictures

Re: Helmet Prices! (And What Am I Getting?)
It may be easier, and cheaper, to just get fatter.
I'm a little surprised at the XXXL size fitting me. I don't have anything
over a 2XL, and most of my clothes are 1XL...except, of course, my
underwear, but that's another issue...
With long arms, a long torso, and a not-too-fat gut, it's a huge pain to

I thought that was the price of admission...

Re: Helmet Prices! (And What Am I Getting?)
That is a good reason to not ever wear a full-face helmet then. It
ruins you!
Many of us are old enough to remember when we used to drive all the
time without seat belts. Never felt nervous or "vulnerable" while
doing so either. But do the same thing now (after years of seat belt
use) and you feel vulnerable, right?

Re: Range of Light holiday ride
I know a rider who did that on the return ride from Laguna Seca on
CA58 at night.
As he went off the road in a sudden tight corner, he thought he was
going to have a soft landing in some bushes.
Then he realized the bushes were trees, a lot further down the slope
He was separated from his group but a pickup truck driver noticed that

Re: Helmet Prices! (And What Am I Getting?)
Amen to that. Motorcycle jacket sizing seems to be done by the
time-honored dartboard method. One maker's "XXL" is barely equal
to another's "L", and the tailoring - if you can call it that - varies
all over the place.
I just took advantage of a sale one of the online sources had on Scorpion
jackets; not being - ahem - a small person, I ordered the XXL, the biggest

Re: Hollywood Race War Propaganda Film.
Good point. As a counter, though, I would suggest that "old"
and "grown up" are NOT synonyms....

Re: Inflatable helmet, really
Well, people who maintain "drive up" facilities really don't want
pedestrians and cyclists getting in their primary customers' way.
Banks are private property and, since we live in a free country, are
able to run their business as they see fit. The same goes for the
"drive up" window at MacDonald's burger joint... if I don't like it,

Interesting... Passing within the lane... Sounds a lot like the lane

Re: Hollywood Race War Propaganda Film.
The children (in terms of age) I've known haven't had the time -or the
indoctrination- to learn all of the stock racist cant that passes for
thought with these doofi.
It takes years of intense study to become that stupid.
