Re: Indy shop vs Dealership
I have also found that when you are on the road and need help, most
shops will help a person out, obviously you can't sit around and
wait for a couple weeks to get in line behind the regular customers.
But going to a local dealer for service when you've bought a bike
elsewhere to save money, some dealers refuse to have anything to do

Re: Clutch fade
Unless it's an early Evo Sportster with the alternator on the clutch
basket . That basket goes for over 400 USD all by itself .

Amen. I've heard of the practice, and some shops have told me about
it, but I've never actually seen it in practice. Nobody has ever asked
if I bought my bike there. In fact, when I'm on the road and need
help, virtually every shop I've been to has been exceptionally helpful

That's OK. I deserved a good smack for that comment.

Re: shorttake: demo ride D675
Did you remember reading that I couldn't wait that long & if these
posts are correct there's only about a couple hundred here in the
states. Not to mention I'm not hot on bying new or 1st year models. My
last new bike was the 03GSXR1000 or definately not new and for $10,000
cash OTD.
My current SV had 5K miles on in when I bought it plus a full Yosh

(Sorry. Couldn't resist.)

Re: Bluebird on my shoulder
I think a .410 gauge with #8 or 9 birdshot would take care of Mr.
Bluebird nicely.

Re: Rental Ride Report
I registered the wife and myself this past weekend, actually. Now I've got
to get off my butt and get some rooms reserved or we'll be tenting it. My
sister is coming from Fairbanks and will either meet us in Tok or will ride
to our house in Anchorage first via the Parks Highway and then ride back up

Thanks. Terrific site, Robert. I was just checking it out with
Gladys. That's exactly the kind of country we like. Now we'll hardly
be able to sleep until the time to leave arrives!

Dealer vs indy is a different question - neither one assures
quality ( or lack of same ) merely because of that relationship.

No and not likely to sound interesting. BUT I suppose we could

all a long weekend is all I get these days. Heck I had more free time
while I helped wire up WTC7.
